Round Guests Tables and Chair Quantities
Round Guest Tables are the most popular option within the event industry; commonly used for formal events like wedding receptions, upscale dinner parties, fundraisers, and anniversaries. Round tables allow a larger number of guests to be seated together while encouraging conversation. With the guests seated across from each other, they are more likely to engage more comfortably. This is a great way to allow them to get to know the others they are seated with, whether they are meeting for the first time or catching up from the past. In addition, Round Tables have added space for table decorations and formal centerpieces.
Round table rentals come in a variety of sizes, and are typically sized in 12” (1 ft.) diameter increments, ranging from 24” to 72”. The most popular round guest table is 60” (5 ft.). A 60” Round Table can comfortably seat 8 guests. Reducing the seating to 6 will give your guests more space. Many rental companies will state that a 60” Round Table can accommodate 8-10 guests. Although this is true, 10 chairs would be rather tight. We suggest a maximum of 8 guests per 60” Round Table. A 48” Round Table can comfortably seat 4-6 guests, and the larger 72” Round Table can comfortably seat up to 10.
Banquet Guests Tables and Chair Quantities
In contrast to Round Tables for formal events, Banquet Tables rentals are typically ideal for more casual occasions. Rectangular in shape, they can be set up individually or connected side-by-side in long rows. This table style is a great option for school events, family reunions, graduation parties, outdoor BBQs and picnics, or large banquets. The long and slim shape of banquet tables can allow more guests to be seated than round tables.
The most common length for Banquet Tables are 4 ft., 6 ft. and 8 ft., and are each 30” Wide. 8 ft. tables are the most popular size when used for guest seating. With 4 chairs placed on each long side of the table, every 8 ft. table can comfortably seat 8 guests. Although 4 ft. and 6 ft. tables can be used for seating, these sizes are typically used for other purposes (refreshment tables, gift tables, etc.). A 4 ft. banquet table can comfortably seat 4 guests, and a 6 ft. banquet table can comfortably sit 6.
Bistro Table Chair Configurations
These smaller, round tables are similar to what you would see at your local café or coffee shop. Bistro Tables’ rental options have a standard size of 24”, 30”, and 36” in diameter and stand 30” tall. The most popular size is the 30” Round, which is ideal for seating two. Perfect for small garden weddings, showers, or cocktail parties, Bistro Tables are a great way to seat your guests as couples. If you want to increase the number of guests to 3 or 4 at each table, a 36” Bistro Table is the right choice.
High Top Cocktail Tables barstool Accommodations
The only difference between the High Top Table rentals and the Bistro Tables mentioned above is the height. The Bistro Tables are assembled with a 30” column, and High Top Tables are constructed with a 42” column. As the name suggests, these tables are similar to what you would see at a bar, lounge, or pub. This style table can be used with bar stools for your guests to be seated while enjoying casual cocktails or appetizers.
They are also commonly used without chairs, so guests can stand around the tables while they move about and socialize. High Top Tables also work great when placed around the dance floor at a wedding reception. Adding Cocktail Table rentals to any event will encourage your guests to move around freely and have a good time.
Head Tables Seating Arrangements
The most common way to seat the married couple and their Wedding Party is a large table to be placed front and center at the reception. Most often, Banquet Tables are set up side-by-side to create a long, single table with the chairs placed on one side, facing the guests. The tables can be set up in various ways to create a U-Shape, V- Shape, or a large square. The number of people at the Wedding Party will determine the number of tables needed. Typically, each 8 ft. table can seat 4 guests when just seated along one side.
Sweetheart Table Seating Arrangements
A Sweetheart Table is also a popular choice for weddings. This will allow the couple to enjoy the event together, at their very own exclusive table. The most popular size is a 36” Bistro Table or a 48” Round Table.
Classroom Tables Seating Arrangement
A thinner version of the Banquet Tables, Classroom Table rentals, is ideal for seminars, corporate meetings, school testing, and academic presentations. Designed for the guests to all be seated on one side of the table facing the presentation/speaker, the 6’ x 18” Classroom Table can seat 3 guests, and the 8’ x 18” Classroom Table can seat 4. These tables provide just enough space for a pad of paper and a water bottle for each guest.
